MacTavish open to moving No. 7 pick

07:25 AM ET 06.26 | Perhaps a team looking to move up will have a chat with Craig MacTavish, who now presides over an Oilers draft board that doesn't -- for the first time in three years -- start at the top. The Oilers have been embarrassed long enough and desperately want to improve right now, so packaging the No. 7 pick with a roster player and swinging a deal for an established power forward makes perfect sense. On the other hand, stockpiling good young talent through the draft is the cornerstone of all winning teams. ... Right now MacTavish is leaning toward keeping the pick and trying to fill immediate needs via free agency and by trading existing roster players. ... That doesn't mean MacTavish isn't open to moving the No.7 pick, it just means it'll take a very good pitch to make him consider it.

This has Flyers deal written all over it. Flyers are not happy at 11th, they'd like to get Nurse but he will almost certainly be gone by then

I'm surprised you're not an executive with the Leafs now Danny. With your analytical skills you'd have them out of the doldrums in a couple of weeks.

Defamation lawsuit filed against anonymous posters

On April 26, 2013, Burke filed a lawsuit against eighteen individuals who anonymously posted on websites claims that the actual reason he was fired from the Leafs was for alledgedly having an affair with a female sportscaster and fathering her child. Burke said the claims were false and defamatory and, despite the costs which deter most victims of false statements on the internet, he would seek court orders to disclose the names of those involved
