N.C. State's basketball future is being molded in the backcourt at Marion (Ind.) High, which has provided a second recruit to coach Sidney Lowe. Scott Wood, a 6-foot-5 junior shooting guard, has committed to N.C. State, Marion director of student activities Bennett Summersett said Friday. Marion senior point guard Julius Mays has signed with the Wolfpack. All-Star Sports /recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons of Lenoir said Wood is a top-100 player in his class with the potential to be a top-50 player. Gibbons compares Wood to Duke guard Jon Scheyer because he's a good shooter with some athletic ability.

Wow. Marion. Weak sauce.

Weak school or not, if you're in the top 100 in your class, that says something. The bigger question is why would a kid that plays high school in Indiana want to play college at N.C. State?

maybe with a few good recruiting classes State will return closer to the Valvano-glory days...Sidney would know...he was there.

Usually a high school kid from Indiana will stay close to home or go to an uper echelon team. If he can help NC State return to the glory years, then he made the right decision.

give the kid chance. hell he has not played a game for State yet. this is ACCNation writing and I believe Coach Lowe's ability to recruit. if he can't get top 50's, he can recruit what State needs.

I hope Lowe can bring the Pack back. I miss the days of the "Big Four" teams challanging each other for state bragging rights.
