04:42 PM ET 06.26 | After taking a year off to deal with shoulder and back problems, Indiana Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird will return to his post in the team's front office. To make room for him, acting president of basketball operations Donnie Walsh will step aside and into a consulting role. General manager Kevin Pritchard will retain his position. Bird will be re-introduced Thursday, exactly a year after he announced he would step aside for an undisclosed amount of time. Bird, who joined the Pacers front office in 2003, built the team that made the Eastern Conference Finals this season but stepped down just after earning the 2012 NBA Executive of the Year award. "He???s got plenty of rings of his own, now I want him to win one for me," Pacers owner Herb Simon told The Star. "He???s got his energy back, his health back and he???s raring to go."

Larry Legend needs to upgrade the Pacers starting back court. Hill and Stephenson aren't the ingredients to a championship caliber team. He needs to keep Granger in case George doesn't live up to the hype.

George is going to want a max deal and who knows how the effect on grangers knee will turn out.they pushed the champs without him So I would trade him for assets an or a pg he is definitely worth it. Teams will definitely take a chance on him low risk he won't comeback not ready. I just don't see indiana being able to pay him, George and west.....hibbert already got a huge deal

Granger's gotta go, get whatever value you can on him. They do need a solid PG. Maybe bring back collison? He's available. Since Denver is doing a complete makeover, Miller might be available as well.
