03:44 PM ET 06.26 | Facing a hefty luxury tax next season, the NBA Champion Miami Heat are looking for cheap talent and who better to come cheaply with potential than former number one overall pick, Greg Oden? Oden and the Heat apparently have had "mutual" interest in each other and according to Heat team president Pat Riley, the club will "explore" signing the big man. What Riley exactly means by that is unknown though for a team desperate for size and trying to fill out their roster with cheap, serviceable role players, the match makes sense for both sides.

Is it just my imagination, or is this thread getting recycled every few days? The mods would never do that, right? Right? lol

Seriously, this makes too much sense for it to actually happen.

Actually, if Kahn were still around I bet the T-wolves would've signed him by now.

The big if with Oden is how long will his knees hold up this time around. His contract would be based on long his knees hold up in other word his health. No team wants to give away free money to a player who can't play a full season and be affective. The Heat and the Clippers could use this guy if he recovered from all his knee surgeries and can play a full season. The guy was a great high school player along with Mike Conley Jr won two state championships and was one win away from winning a national championship in college as a freshman. Greg Oden has great potential if his knees are healthy that's why he was the #1 pick over Durant. Would I take a chance on him if I were the Heat or Clippers YES!.

If Pat the Rat can pull the trigger on this ONE, he'll go down amongst the Basketball Gods. Can you say, "Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4"? This move will put Bosh right where he wants to be, outside taking jump shots & give the HEAT a presences underneath the boards.
