03:53 PM ET 06.26 | The New York Yankees already host the Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium every year, but they could have their eye on hosting a College Football Playoff game in the near future. The Playoff semifinal sites are set for over the next 10 years, but the Yankees could lodge a bid to host the championship game. One issue, though, would be that the capacity is only 54,000, whereas Metlife Stadium can hold over 80,000.

I think the NCAA will not put their championship game in a northern site.

Only 54k seats for a playoff game? Heck, why not have it in Boise, then?

Think how much you could charge for a ticket.

...of course they do. Nothing says College Football like a poorly adapted stadium in a market that doesn't support a single popular college team...in JANUARY.

the championship game's revenue isn't driven by ticket sales though. Sure, people are greedy so they'll do what benefits them in any minor way, but the reality is that in the grand scheme of $$$ the gate receipt is a minor consideration. Now...hype, interest, eyeballs glued to tv screens is quite another thing.

Yankee Stadium is a dark awful place that deserves to disappear into a siinkhole, never to be seen again.
