Manti Te'o fitting in with Chargers

04:36 PM ET 06.26 | No player at this year???s NFL Rookie Symposium is a bigger candidate for the locker-room hazing that awaits some incoming draft picks. So far, Manti Te???o has done his part to prevent that from happening. Having fun at Te???o???s expense would be easy for San Diego Chargers veterans. He went from being a star Notre Dame linebacker to national laughingstock last January when exposed for having fallen victim to a hoax involving what he thought was a real-life girlfriend who died of leukemia. Te???o was portrayed in the media as everything from naive and gullible to dishonest for not publicly disavowing his ???relationship??? with the fictitious Lennay Kekua once Te???o knew she didn???t really exist. The ???catfish??? scandal also has left Te???o open for pranks and snide comments by his new Chargers teammates, especially considering the often cruel nature of jock culture.

Probably should be hazed for that crappy performance against Bama than the imaginary girlfriend.

That's cold!

I think in a few years, the Chargers are going to be very pleased they made this pick. He's a solid linebacker.

I saw the game. Just sayin'...

He should fit in just fine in San Diego. It's just a stone's throw from San Francisco where I imagine he'll be spending most of his free time.

June 26, 2013  07:08 PM ET

Smile and take it like a man Manti, 'bout all ya can do!

June 26, 2013  07:40 PM ET

No now the team gave him a BLOWUP Doll to keep in his locker.

Too many real people in SF. Not his type.

Easy to fit in when there's always room for your girlfriend

Not a linebacker in the country who would have excelled in that game. The D-line was non-existent.

It's actually really fucked up when it's written out like that.

LBs fill gaps left by the DL. Sorry, I saw a guy on his heels. Just one game, but he stunk.

Oh they're his type there alright. Especially if he just admits it and comes out of the closet.

If orientation is a big deal with you, then ok. If you're Neanderthal and moronic, then I guess not.

Sure, he'd be easy to haze - however Coach McCoy seems to have this under control. It appears he has talked to his team leaders and stressed how destructive it could be.

During OTA's his teammates have gone out of their way to make sure he doesn't get snared by a journo.

First of all if you think I'm the only one who thinks that, hang on until tomorrow and everyone reads this. Or better yet, go back and read the 50 other stories on this overrated dude in the last month.

Secondly, Congratulations. I'm impressed that anyone from Minnesota, or anyone who cheers for Minnesota, can use the words, let alone spell the words, orientation, Neanderthal, and moronic in consecutive sentences without speaking of one of their own. Your parents must be proud that their child has turned out as good as he has considering all the obvious limitations he had to overcome.

"Manti Te'o fitting in with Chargers"

Are these the real San Diego Chargers or the dead, imaginary San Diego Chargers?

Your knowledge of geography is as good as your knowledge of Teo; or maybe you have a great arm, one at least better than your head.
