10:01 PM ET 06.26 | Former Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez is in a protracted legal battle with the Viacom-owned organization. While the UFC has made an offer for his services, Bellator believes they've matched his offer, but only a court can settle the dispute. The problem, according to documents revealed Wednesday, is that Alvarez and Bellator don't have to face off in court until September 15, 2014. That's when a pre-trial conference can take place. In other words, unless a settlement is achieved before such time, a dispute in this matter may not be reached until the end of 2014.
