07:15 AM ET 06.27 | Jim Boeheim gave Tim O'Toole an offer that could springboard him back into coaching, and he made the leap Wednesday. [O'Toole] had been out of coaching for more than six years when he took [Boeheim's] offer to become Syracuse's director of basketball operations back in late December. ... O'Toole was over-qualified for the basketball operations, but Boeheim sold him on the job as an opportunity to get back into the game. On Wednesday, O'Toole confirmed that he had accepted an assistant coaching position at Stanford. "Syracuse has always been a special place to me," said O'Toole, who worked at Syracuse from 1991 to 1995 before returning last season. "I've been very fortunate to work for Coach Boeheim on two separate occasions. It's very sad for me to leave."
