07:22 AM ET 06.27 | On one level, Kris Letang prefers to stay and play in Pittsburgh. He also prefers to play for a team that believes he is its best defenseman. Letang, coming off his first Norris Trophy (top defenseman) nomination, has grown uneasy about his standing within the organization, sources said Wednesday. The Tribune-Review recently reported that some members of management and coaches rated Paul Martin as the club's best defenseman last season. Penguins general manager Ray Shero remains high on Letang, especially his upside. ... [Letang] reiterated Wednesday that his focus is on working out a new contract with the Penguins. Lmao Letang for Benn? Loui?

I'm confident Jim Nill won't be making those kind of trades.

I'd say Krug's shot has him at least one leg up on Letang - ineffective on d, weak shot, isn't exactly Orr, or Park or even Coffey, is it?

It's called the beginning of the end phase II. Phase I was giving him the contract. Vinnie is now very rich like Bryz, and can still get a bit more on the market - enter the ROB-erto. Another week and these guys'll be buying the dirt-dogs.
