Nets hire Lawrence Frank as assistant

05:55 PM ET 06.27 | Jason Kidd may not have an iota of experience as an NBA head coach, but he'll have plenty behind him on the bench. The newly-hired head coach and the Brooklyn Nets have brought on Kidd's former coach, Lawrence Frank, as the lead assistant. Frank coached the Nets when they were in New Jersey from 2003-10, and Kidd was the starting point guard at the more successful front end of that tenure. Frank, the Nets' all-time wins leader at head coach, was fired from the Detroit Pistons head coaching position after the 2012-13 season. Brooklyn will also reportedly bring on Roy Rogers and Eric Hughes as assistants.
