07:09 AM ET 06.28 | Yes, the Dolphins have filled out the roster with pass-catching options such as Mike Wallace, Brandon Gibson and tight end Dustin Keller. Still, as impressive an offseason as general manager Jeff Ireland and company have orchestrated, the team will only go as far as second-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill takes them. According to 2012 breakout receiver Brian Hartline, last year's No. 8 overall selection has shown exponential improvement thus far. "He's really taken a huge step," Hartline said in a conference call with team season ticket holders. "He's making every throw, his deep ball looks awesome, intermediate ball is great, he has great touch ... his improvement has been amazing."

Almost every player looks good in shorts. We'll see how he looks when it counts!

Tannehill actually exceeded expectations last year, but that's mostly because expectations weren't very high. Still, with a few breaks, the Dolphins have an outside shot at a wild card this year.

On the other hand, I'd wait until the players are wearing pads and the quarterbacks aren't wearing their special "don't hit me" jerseys.

"exponential improvement"....Depends on where you start from now, doesn't it? (1) (1) (1) (1) (1)=1 raised to the fifth power =1

Not saying the guy is a 1, but not giving him a 2 just because he did not totally fall on his face last year either.

Exactly. There are no games won or lost at this time of the year.

That's kinda where my thought train was going. 500% of zero is still zero.

I would argue that when a premier player goes down with an injury during the offseason, especially one that will cause them to miss regular season games, additional losses are basically incurred at that point.

With the loss of Welker, Gronk's wonky back and Hernandez' legal woes, the AFC East is Miami's for the taking.

Players may be lost during OTA's but the games aren't played for keeps until the regular season starts.

Playing in Mike Sherman's, his college coach, offense, Tannehill completed just 58.3% of his passes. His familiarity with the offense gave him an unprecedented advantage for a rookie QB, and he was "ehhhhhh." I really doubt he has much of a ceiling and will be a replacement level or below QB for his career.
