07:28 AM ET 06.28 | Tampa Bay's self-inflicted loss will most likely wind up being another team's gain. On the open market, provided the term is right, Vinny Lecavalier will be highly sought after. Toronto, Montreal and Detroit are expected to be among the heavy-hitters in the line-up, offering somewhere in the neighborhood of three years at $4.5 to $5 million per season. However, if that's the going rate the list of teams interested will grow considerably. ... In the meantime, on the trade front, there is a ton of activity leading up to Sunday's Draft. The teams and players in play is seemingly growing by the hour. Names like Dion Phaneuf, David Perron, Dave Bolland, Ales Hemsky, Shawn Horcoff and Roberto Luongo are all notables.

Using compliance buyouts on Samuelsson and (Bertuzzi or Tootoo) would net the Wings $5M for Vinny. I'd be cool with that.

So, the NBA drafted a Canadian 1st overall, and the NHL might draft an American 1st overall (but probably won't, but...).Can we trade sports back now?

I guess Canadians finally warmed up to growth hormones.
