Bulls likely to sign only minimum salaried players in offseason

02:37 PM ET 06.29 | Bulls general manager Gar Forman has a few ways in which he could improve the team this offseason, namely in the form of the taxpayer's mid-level exception and a $5 million trade exception that was created in the trade of Kyle Korver last summer. However, because the Bulls are already over the tax luxury line with just eight players currently under contract, those tools likely won't be used. Chicago is expected to fill out the rest of their roster with minimum contracts in the offseason, with one of those deals probably going to Nazr Mohammed, the backup center last season.

This is exactly why the Bulls will continue to come up short and not beat the Heat. You CANNOT be afraid to spend money on real talent if you want to really computer for titles. This way of thinking just won't get it done.

Easier said than done. Who exactly would you like them to "spend money" on? Dwight Howard?

bulls management are clueless.
They won't amnesty Boozer, but rather spend on cheap contracts?
Paxon is a moron!

when you have Josh Smith, J.R Smith and Tyreke Evans available all three which would fill a need and we cant sign none of them because of the albatross deals given to Deng and Boozer then the management is failing our team. Deng is as good as he is going to get, he is no second option to carry a team, Boozer puts up decent numbers offensively but there's a reason he doesnt play at crunch time, it's time to let both go and build around Rose & Noah. You cant tell me that line of of Rose and J.R at guards, Noah, Joshn and Tyreke on the front ine wouldnt be the best team in the East easily..................

I agree with trying to go after J.R. Smith because for the past few years we don't have anybody else who can create their own shot outside of D. Rose. Until we find that player, we will never get pass the Heat in the east because individual talent always wins out over a team with chemistry who doesn't have a 1B to a 1A.

Please don't get me started on Dwight Howard because he will always be a big goofy and a lame who really doesn't value winning which is suppose to be the purpose of competing in the NBA. He basically hated on D. Rise when he had an opportunity to get traded here, plus his infamous indecisiveness really makes him look like a clown. He a me first type of dude who only cares about being "the man" when he really doesn't play like it. You can't put him on the floor in the 4th quarter because he can't shoot free throws at all and he doesn't have a real post game only using his athleticism. He really confused when he said he doesn't like pick and rolls despite the fact that's where he's deadly at with his athleticism plus Steve Nash handling the ball. Good luck to whoever has to sign and pacify this goofy...

It's amazing that the Bulls are one of the highest revenue generating teams in the NBA and Jerry Reinsdorf for some strange reason doesn't want to spend the money necessary on a player to get us over the hump. Then we have one of the most unimaginative front offices in the league. I really like Luol Deng, but I think we're best served trying to trade him and Boozer for some type of cap relief.

Cheaper to keep Boozer or trade, amnesty wouldn't do any good

This is the real problem.....not Deng's or Boozer's contracts, but Reinsdorf going all-out to protect his profits.

Wow.......you really think those three perennial losers would get the Bulls over the hump?

Really???

That's pretty darn laughable.
