04:31 PM ET 06.29 | Indianapolis Colts defensive back Joe Lefeged was arrested on multiple gun charges Friday night, according to The Indianapolis Star. He was arrested after fleeing police during a traffic stop. According to a Washington D.C. police spokesman, Lefeged was driving with another man when police attempted to stop the vehicle. After a chase, the two men were arrested and a handgun was found in the vehicle. Lefeged and Timothy Wilson are both being charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm, unregistered ammunition and presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle, among other charges.

At this rate Roger Goodell is going to change his name to Roger Goodfellows. Can't wait to see who gets arrested tomorrow.

What made the police nervous was the fact that Lefeged had just stopped and bought some bubble gum.

June 29, 2013  05:01 PM ET

Thug Life, baby. Roger Goodfellows it is.

Statistics say the general population gets in to criminal problems at about the rate of 4%. NFL players at around 2.2%. The gap seems to be closing.

Unregistered ammunition, what the hell is that? Presence of a firearm in a vehicle? Are you kidding me? Get me on the jury dude. I'll throw the cop in jail and give you my juror's check.

Ah, it seems the Colts are starting to catch up to the rest of the league. They were lagging behind in total arrests. Gotta play to win!

I heard that stat while I was getting my oil changed the other day, I think they had Wolf Blitzer on the tube.

I believe that to be an easily massaged statistic.

Joe Schmo pays his fine and does his time. NFL'er, not so much, they usually buy their way out and often aren't even arrested to begin with when you or I would be. The DA's only want to refer easy wins. If they have to go up against a connected lawyer, the crime has to be egregious.

Arrested vs Convicted - I think the stat was for convicted.

Yes, that is where I heard it just going through some channels. Could not remember exactly.

Its time Goodall and the Union sit down and stop this crap. The fans are getting fed up with this. Glad I'm not a season ticket holder, almost sorry I have TV. I love football like the next guy but its starting to wear. Its the players who don't respect the fans. Like they are above the law, have lawyers galore and no one can touch them.

About as little as John Denver enjoyed that last landing.

Dude, DC has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation. That's why it is such a crime-free city. But seriously, you do not want to get caught with an unregistered weapon in that place. It's not like Texas, or even Alabama for that matter.

Firearms still need to be registered in Texas.

Does Texas have mandatory prison terms for unlicensed weapons?

About 20-30 years ago the NBA had this same problem, only worse, and they seemed to have cleaned up their act. Maybe it's time for the NFL to look at how they handled it.

Not to mention... Compare regular society with an average annual salary of $1.75 million per year versus the NFL at the same income point.

Probably something like .0001% versus 2.2%.

CNN is trying to compare the demographics of everybody against the demographics of one of the highest income segments in the country.

December, 2009, In Wash DC no less, I recall many guns in the NBA locker room with the threat of old school duels.

Using the NBA as a benchmark would be idiotic.

1 instance in comparison to the rampant gun issues in the NFL.
