Denver's under-the-radar move

07:06 AM ET 07.01 | But for injuries to a starting quarterback, veteran center Dan Koppen has made nearly every snap of his career to a guy headed to the Hall of Fame, and he'll get another shot in 2013. It's a move that pretty much flew under the radar, but it wasn't just coincidence that the Denver Broncos recently turned to [Koppen] when starter J.D. Walton underwent a second surgery to address problems with a left ankle injury. ... The familiarity with the no-huddle and "check with me" systems that Peyton Manning employs definitely were a factor in the Broncos' decision to bring back Koppen on a second straight one-year contract. He's an upgrade over the alternatives, Manny Ramirez or Philip Blake. And at a veteran-minimum salary, he could have maximum impact.

Seriously, most moves involving interior linemen are under the radar. They just don't get that far off the ground, ever.

Under the radar? I guess if you don't call all of Denver's media outlets, ESPN, USA Today, and SI the radar. This happened 2 weeks ago.

It seems to be the newest profit center.... Guy in his basement can simply lift paragraphs from real stories, repost them as new articles giving credit to the author, and sell advertising.

Journalists should be in an uproar. It's devaluing their product.

True, and you don't think of centers until the backup fumbles the snap.
