Nolasco's trade value sinking

07:28 AM ET 07.01 | As the week opens, there is a chance that Ricky Nolasco has already pitched his last game for the Marlins. The rebuilding Marlins are in last place and would rather acquire prospects than spend big dollars to keep the right-hander on a multiyear contract. The drama now is whether Nolasco will make his next start for the Marlins -- or another team. As the Miami Herald's Clark Spencer pointed out Sunday, righty Henderson Alvarez is on track to come off the disabled list and start Wednesday in Atlanta. That is Nolasco's day to pitch. So, the Marlins could use Wednesday as a soft deadline to move Nolasco. One issue with that: Nolasco's recent performance -- a 5.09 ERA and .855 OPS over his past four starts -- could have diminished his trade value.

trade him we don't need him

Another example of a over paid 500 career pitcher who thinks he deserves a multiyear contract with another team and probably will get it.

I don't see how the Marlins can expect to get much of a return on this guy.

Ya think a 5.09 ERA might hurt his trade value? Duh! Teams need good pitching, not bad pitching.

Perhaps with a little more run production by Jeff Mathis could increase his average in the hitting stats, :-) :-)
