07:35 AM ET 07.01 | Not only is Oklahoma's David Cornwell a five-star quarterback commit for Alabama, but he's also a recruiter. While in Oregon this week to compete in Nike's elite football prospect competition The Opening, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound star told reporters he plans on taking the opportunity to recruit some of the nation's top uncommitted prospects to join him in the Crimson Tide's 2014 recruiting class, including several players selected to Cornwell's 7-on-7 team for this week's competition, Team Superbad. "I really want to see these guys and who I'll be throwing to and see what they'll be like at Alabama," Cornwell told BamaOnline. "I'm going to be talking to Speedy (Noil), Ermon (Lane), (Travis) Rudolph, just to name a few."

Yeah no one else is doing the same thing.

Right except for Jabrill Peppers who's trying to get the #1 DB in the country to join him at Michigan.......but other than that no one else. ;p

Coach Saban is a Saint.

As for recruiting other recruits, I always wondered why they make such a big deal about that. Kids are going to try and get the friends of theirs to go to the same school and going to try and get the new friends they make at all star games to go to the same school. That's been going on as long as Alabama has been winning championships, so basically 100 years, almost!!!

While I'm no fan of the Crimson Tide, it is not Saban's fault that some want to deify him, while others (you know who you are) seek to demonize him. I have not seen or heard anything that would qualify him for either designation. He's a coach. A darn fine coach, and yes, he left us to go to LUS, but things a MSU were unstable to say the least. I wish him well and hope we can beat his team fair and square on the field. We have a ways to go before that occurs.

Square will not roll, guess nobody has told him that, so I won't either, don't want to burst his bubble.

That's what I get for using more than one metaphor in the same thread.

Are you referring to Da'shawn Hand? If so, you should know he is a defensive end, not a DB.

Imagine if you will, a guy big enough to play DE, but quick enough to play safety... Boom! Bells rung. Need a new WR on the field. Boom! Bells rung. Need a new flanker. Boom! Bells rung. Need a new RB...
