07:02 AM ET 07.02 | What a difference a year -- another year without a ring -- makes. [Kobe Bryant] has gone back and forth about how many more years he wants to play in recent years, even suggesting at various times last season that he'd considered hanging it up after his contract expired at the end of the 2013-14 campaign. Apparently, Bryant has changed his mind, firmly stating that he's thinking of playing at least three more years. "I feel pretty [darn] confident I can be at a high level for at least another three years. ... I think the (Achilles) injury has something to do with it. It really increased the drive. And probably San Antonio getting so close to winning No. 5, probably hurt me a little bit too. I want to make sure I push the ring count out a little further."

ask for amnesty, then sign with the Spurs, that will make sure that you always have one more than Duncan

QUOTE(#9):

Kobe is done and like most athletes they can rarely bow out gracefully. Instead, he'll hang on so that he can score more points than Jordan and attempt to tie Jordan in rings. Rather than accomplishing those things, he'll taint his legacy similar to Colorado.

done based on what?
The injury?

QUOTE(#13):

His skills were in decline prior to the injury and a torn Achilles is about as bad an injury as you can get for a guy who jumps for a living.

Not sure about declining. How old is he? 35 right, or about to be?

Over the last 5 seasons since he hit 30, he's still averaging about 26 ppg and 45% shooting. That's still pretty high for a guy at that age. Over his career he's 25.5 ppg. That's not a huge decline in production. He's slower, yes, but his skills are the same.

I think he still has 2 solid years left, although he can't be playing all out in every game he plays when he comes back. I think he'll be alright.

According to a Yahoo story 36 minutes ago...Houston said they would sign Josh Smith IF Dwight Howard doesn't sign with the Rockets.

If he gets Amnestied the teams with the worst record have a chsnce to sign him. SA wouldn't have a chance.
