07:06 AM ET 07.03 | New Lions defensive lineman Israel Idonije isn't exactly looking forward to attacking his friend and Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. But when Idonije plays his former team next season, he wants to show them what they missed by letting him sign with a division rival. "It's not personally against one player, but I'm looking forward to twice a year, dressing up, suiting up and getting after it on the field when we play the Bears in Detroit and then in Chicago," Idonije said on "NFL AM" on NFL Network Tuesday. During his time with the Bears, Idonije, a 10-year veteran who spent the past nine in Chicago, said the organization had become a family to him. When the Bears didn't re-sign the 32 year old this offseason, Idonije opened his eyes to the harsher business side of the NFL.

He'll get two opportunities per year. I bet Cutler's hoping the o-line is much improved this year.

Maybe he will show them something... or we'll get a better look at why Chicago let him go.

Just like the article mentions, it is a business.

He's gonna show them alright... That an aging DL is just that... an aging DL.

Alot of solid under the radar moves for both starters and solid depth. Quin from the Texans was a really nice pick up for the secondary and re-signing Chris Houston was smart too. Jones from Seattle was solid (good to not overpay for Avril a one trick pony) and Idonije as well. Bush is a great fit too. Most importantly they didn't overpay for any of these guys. Very smart off season by Mayhew.

He wasn't even in the bears defensive line rotation at the end of the year. With Cory Wooten DE, Henry Melton DT (pro-bowl), Steven Pea NG, and Julius Peppers DE (pro-bowl) he was never going to sniff the starting lineup. Add to that Shea the 17th pick Izzy was the 4th DE and didn't see a lot of playing time. The Bears drafted another DE so the writing was on the wall.

Lets see how effective he is without Peppers and Metlon demanding double teams.

There it is. That's what it really boils down to.

Something about that pic of Cutler is prophetic about Hernandez' future.

...can't quite put my finger on it.
