07:14 AM ET 07.03 | Dwight Howard, the choice is yours. [Howard] stands at the center of the most terrifying maelstrom that has come along in the NBA in decades. What is that, you ask? It's called the Lakers with cap space. ... [That means that Howard] is 12 months away from being the centerpiece of an unprecedented constellation of star power. If you thought the Lakers' courtship of Howard was something -- with the banners and the hashtags and whatnot -- wait until they knock on LeBron James' door on July 1, 2014. Dwight, LeBron and Carmelo Anthony on the Lakers, with [Kobe Bryant] saying this week he has three good years left in him? It would make the Heat's Big Three look like a bad pickup game at the Y.

Why stop at LeBron, Melo, Howard, & Bryant? This sounds like a 14yr old's video game dream lineup.

I could have SWORE Kobe said he was going to retire regardless after his contract was up......smh

Hell if Howard wanted to be the #1 option and they got those guys he wouldnt even be a top 5 options with them....

1. Kobe's Ego
2. LBJ
3. Kobe
4. Melo
5. Melo's Ego
6. Howard......

The only time he might to get to touch the ball is on opening tip and to inbound the ball and watch everyone else fight over it....As DA yells "It's seven seconds or less!!! Shoot the ball"

Laker fans are going to spend the rest of the day telling us why this is doable.

Why not? It's the era of "super teams". They don't want to run the risk of losing games. That takes the fun out of it!

How is that suppose to work? Dwight wants to be the man and wants the ball. You bring in 2 more superstar who wants to be the man and dominate the ball...smh on this one

Maybe this was their pitch.

Well, he DID ask Houston if they had any plans to sign another star along with him and Harden. You know Harden always has his hands on the ball. I'm not so sure Dwight wants to be "the man" anywhere. I don't get it.

Who would fill out the rest of the roster after those salary cap hits? Manti Te'o's girlfriends?

QUOTE(#15):

The Los Angeles Clippers' acquisition of J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley could impact whether Chauncey Billups and Matt Barnes return. Billups started all 22 regular-season games he played at shooting guard for the Clippers last season. Redick is expected to be the Clippers' new starting shooting guard with Jamal Crawford and Willie Green backing him up. Yahoo! Sports One league source said it "may be tough" for the Clippers to now keep Billups. why the hell would they want to keep a 78 year old guard who broke down last year?

Billups is a free agent and he wants to go to the Heat. He already put the Clippers behind him. He also questioned Griffin's manhood. He said he is too soft...

Could be right because the Mavs pitch is that he will be the man.
