07:28 AM ET 07.03 | National Signing Day didn't mark the end of Al Golden's talent haul. Since then, UM added several notable players, though one faces academic hurdles and two others must overcome a history of foot problems. Since signing a 16-member class in February, UM added running back Corn Elder (Tennessee's Mr. Football in 2011 and 2012), four-star receiver/tight end Derrick Griffin (at risk of not qualifying because of academics), linebacker Walter Tucker (a track star at Plantation American Heritage) and Julio Derosier (a three-star defensive end at Homestead who missed part of last season at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, Calif., with a foot injury). Another late addition, receiver/tight end Ryheem Lockley, will attend junior college but plans to enroll at UM in January.

Corny Football? Yeah, that's why Manziel got the nickname. It just doesn't work for Elder.

With all that's looming over Miami, you have to admire Al's recruiting. May he build something with who he can get.

How come this kid got away from Jones and the Vols?

We'll have to ask Volunatic. I've got no inside dope on this.

With our W/O the bleaux, Ho and Boat angle?

I have numerous theories concerning recruiting at Miami but you have to put a tin foil hat on first before I will tell you.

I don't have a problem with that. ;-)

Recruiting players with academic and injury problems smacks of desperation on Mr. Golden's part. IMO, his days at Da U are numbered...

Um, EWO, are you forgetting that Golden is coaching at Miami, target of the wrath of Emmert, and despised by multitudes more than those who profess to be fans? The man has to recruit with this overshadowing all. Desperation? No. Shrewd risk taking.

Point well made, but I have always maintained, and believe to this day, that Al Golden is the wrong man for the 'Canes HC job. Just my two cents...

For Al's sake, I wish he'd declined the Miami job. Likely, he'd be in a better situation at another school by now.

Everyone break it up. There is nothing to see here. Miami is not going to do anything of note.
