07:29 AM ET 07.03 | Even in the quietest of offseason lulls, Alabama can pick up a win. At the beginning of the week, [the Crimson Tide] could boast of four committed players at The Opening, Nike's elite prospect camp held this week in Beaverton, Oregon. Now the Crimson Tide have five committed players at the event after picking up a pledge from offensive lineman Montel McBride and the Tide's four other committed players all made big impressions on the coaches and media present at the event on Tuesday. ... In a game televised on ESPNU, [David Cornwell] led his team to an early lead and an eventual victory thanks in part to some impressive deep throws, including a 21-yard touchdown toss to Christian Kirk.

Before the expected posts about "processing," will a Bammer please inform us of the number of available scholly's for the 2014 recruiting class (factoring in expected graduations, et al).

all these fee agent signings must have cost a fortune....

I don't care how well they appear at The Opening.

But I sure hope they look good at The Closing (and all games leading up to it).

Can't wait for the game Sept 14 against Texas A&M. Could be the game of the season.

Daily Bama thread.

Now, DC, you're not a Bammer... Please, tell us you're not a Bammer! Or, are you?

Wait...I thought the game of the season was always tOSU/Michigan....or is it Florida/Georgia...or OU/TU....perhaps ND/USC....or USC/UCLA....whoever plays Boise...

The typical roster has 85 scholly players, so Bama could offer 120+ for next year, depending on who doesn't perform up to standards this year.

Once ESECPN gets involved, there will most definitely be a "Game of the Year" every week!!!! (and that would be some SEC team playing at home)

Agreed. It's a glorified 7-on-7 tournament. Surely the ESPNU cameras caught some recruiting violations ...

I have never seen any school provide such information. What you need is a Bammer to do the leg work and put together a spread sheet of recruited players by eligibility. I made one for MSU, but I'm not going to invest the time in any other school.

Everyone jumps on the winner's bandwagon don' they?

But, the more logical explanation is Lucifer got me. I was told many times when I was a school administrator that "I must have been from the devil since I didn't have a heart".
