07:15 AM ET 07.04 | In the eyes of at least one former teammate, 53 guys weren't enough to keep Aaron Hernandez from going back to his hometown. [Hernandez] typically was open to interviews with the media, friendly and engaging, and usually would find a way to crack a joke to keep everyone on their toes. Many times in the locker room, he was like that with his teammates, too. Yet there was the other, much more mysterious side. It was the elephant in the room with the thunderous steps, according to several sources with direct ties to Hernandez and the locker room. ... His teammates didn't fully grasp why they didn't see him outside the facility. It's a case of not really knowing a person the way everyone might have hoped. "No one hung out with him," according to one source. "No one."

A Loner? What happened to the Gang!

July 4, 2013  08:21 AM ET

No one? I wonder why.His crazy behavior was probably directed at everyone.

What about Deion Branch?

July 4, 2013  09:06 AM ET

Sounds like the type of guy I would prefer not hanging around with anyway.

Seems to have had a propensity for getting into trouble.

July 4, 2013  09:49 AM ET

Instead of talking to teammates before drafting a guy they ought to be talking to his friends. Might find out a whole lot more.

Nobody hung out with him because he spent his free time with his "friends" in Bristol.

And if reports are true, probably about 6 or so dudes.

Aaron probably didn't allow his teammates into his inner circle for fear they would run tell the Hoodie.

DJ,

I think i read an article about Hernandez threatened Welker [NE TE],at some point in time.

July 4, 2013  03:33 PM ET

Man, you know you're out there when even the thugs and gangbangers on the team won't hang out with you.

July 4, 2013  03:34 PM ET

I don't blame BB on Hernandez.

as the other teams in the League have drafted peeps that don't work out very well in public nor the locker room.

This has happened in Cincy,[Yeah the Bengals have went down that road more than once]and also every other team at some point or another.

But, 1st degree murder is the worst.

Yep,

If it were me? I wouldn't want too hang out with him either. He's just been caught with one of the worst incidents in the NFL.

There's been alot of others, but this crime has made the News.

The League will set the record for promo infomercials this fall on all the good things it's players do. It will make the pre election cycle air wave blitzkrieg will look like a fly by.

Roll out the soldiers, veterans old ladies, one eyed jacks and orphans. Keep a hanky handy, it will be total tear jerking.

50YF,

That's true, and all it takes too have that 1 crash and burn? was Hernandez.

Wasn't the Pats fault,as they took a chance worked out for awhile,

and then? this happens.

Adam 'pacman Jones' gave a headsup for rookies,on 'how not too act'.after getting arrested for assault on some bimbo down town.[Cincy]
