07:18 AM ET 07.04 | Only four years ago, Sacramento made Tyreke Evans its No. 4 overall pick, but the two may be headed for a breakup. Sources told ESPN.com on Wednesday that Evans, frustrated by the state of his negotiations with the [Kings] as a restricted free agent, is determined to leave the organization and plans to sign an offer sheet with the New Orleans Pelicans on the first allowable day. Although the Pelicans technically are still waiting for Evans to verbally commit to signing the offer sheet, sources close to the situation regard that as "an inevitability" by week's end. Evans then would formally sign the four-year, $44 million offer sheet on July 10, when the league's annual moratorium on signings and trades is lifted.

Dumb to give $44M for a nimble-minded Evans. He hasn't proven a thing in the NBA. Sac may have gotten the better end of this trade.

Who wouldn't want to leave Sacramento but signing with the Pelicans sounds pretty desperate.

Got you wish Player, but lost a good player in Vasquez in the process. Can't say that I blame you though. The Kings are the Wizards of 2 years ago, a joke. You getting away from the nut house is the best move you could have made for yourself. Now it's time to start doing what you do, play ball. The team isn't so old that you are playing with a bunch of vets, and the best players have enough experience that you guys should make a decent showing. Just have to get with the game plan & not bring bad habit with you to NOLA.
