Possible suitors for Pacman

While Roger Goodell fiddles, the Titans burn. As long as Pacman Jones remains under suspension, the team waits. No doubt Titans higher-ups have developed a set of contingency plans depending on the ultimate resolution of Jones' case. Coach Jeff Fisher says team officials "continue to have meetings" about the matter. The biggest question that arises in those meetings: "You think there's a team out there that will give us a draft pick for this whack job?" The answer: Yes. You might even see a small-scale bidding war among a handful of franchises that are blinded by Jones' on-field ability. Those teams -- Oakland, Denver, maybe Dallas -- know the Titans are likely to cut Jones if/when he is reinstated but might not want to fight the competition if he's on the open market.

I can see Dallas and Oakland. Raiders love bad boys and Dallas is the halfway house of the NFL.
Maybe the Ravens ..

Oakland

Someone can sign him to a one year contract and see what happens. I mean, it's hard to see him as anything else based on his history. It's just not worth the long-term risk. I hope that someone with as much as talent as he has comes to the realization that they can live life living by the rules and actually be happy!!!! Oh well we'll see. Go ahead and pull the trigger Al Davis, you know you want to.

February 10, 2008  08:30 AM ET

It will just be a matter of time before he implodes again even if some team does pic him up. They would be crazy. No team needs him that bad..

February 10, 2008  08:52 AM ET

Al Davis will put him on the coaching staff...

February 10, 2008  08:59 AM ET

Pacman is an idiot... he obviously has not learned his lesson, as he is STILL going to strip clubs. Rational people that are suspended from their jobs do everything humanly possible to change their behavior in order to show they've learned their lesson. He obviously would rather have lap dances than play football. Unless he shows some common sense and maturity, teams would be a fool to sign him.

February 10, 2008  09:43 AM ET

ps. thats not a pic of justin vargas its pacman

Most likely some NFL team will see his potential value of his ability possible overcoming his downside of being - what he must think is some type of "gangsta" crap that has been institutionalized by music and music videos.

But can he become a man and stop the insane living that is destroying him on the inside and the outside?

February 10, 2008  09:45 AM ET

he should be banned from the league. I konw people will make the argument that they guy has to make a living, but why should Pacman get a chance to make a million after all he has done. he is stupid and has forfeited his priveldge to play in the NFL.

Go apply and McDonalds you ****. I hope Jerry Jones doesn't sign him - we already have Tank Johnson

Dallas being a halfway house that is funny. remember a cornerback they picked up in freeagency that had a bad rep to? what was his name...... oh yeah Deion Sanders. oh they picked up the locker room cancer that was Charles Haley. I recall they passed on some reciever comming out of college because of his reputation for getting into trouble....what was his name....Randy Moss. yes they had Michael Irvin and Eric Williams and the whole white house incident, but none of the guys was responsible for getting someone shot Mr. Pacman, or part of a double murder case Mr. Lewis. None have killed a pregnant girl friend Mr Caruth, or killed some body while drunk driving Mr. Little. ohhh let's not forget about the recent dog alligations from in Atlanta. What about the Panthers who got busted for roids post Superbowl pee test. what about the HGH thing Mr. Harrison. Please all teams have these guys on them. To say your team does not employ a person who would fit into this category is purley fantasy. Pacman does not even deserve to work at Mickey D's. he was warned to clean up his act and tell the truth to the commish. now he is paying the price for not following the rules.

Adam will be a cancer wherever he goes.

February 10, 2008  10:01 AM ET

The Mean Machine. God I love that movie. The second one wasn't too bad either.

February 10, 2008  10:02 AM ET

I got a good idea how about N.E. look wat happened to Randy

February 10, 2008  10:20 AM ET

Pacwoman will end up in Oakland (west coast Senile and Alzheimer AL) or Washington (Egocentric on the edge of senility and no football sense Danny Boy)

February 10, 2008  10:26 AM ET

Pacman is just the new "Ricky Williams". Except with drugs it's trying to "keep it real" for all his loser friends from where he grew up. Vick got caught in the same mess. At some point these pros need to leave their past behind if they want to get anywhere.

February 10, 2008  10:41 AM ET

Bucky-He wasn't "involved" I guess you could say. It was his bodyguard who was murdered, but I think it had to do with a dispute Johnson got into. He's not someone I would want to know, that's for sure.

February 10, 2008  11:07 AM ET

I don't think Goodell is letting him back any time soon. Just like every other talented idiot someone will give him a chance but I don't think it will be next year. Before training camp begins he'll be involved in some nonsense and ruin it for himself. He's pretty young, hopefully an athlete who messed up will pull him aside and get through to him. Maybe Mark Gastineau can show Pac Man his empty bankbook.

February 10, 2008  11:07 AM ET

don't want him in dallas. no way, not ever. hasn't shown any change in his off field behavior. jerry jones would be a fool to pick this jerk up. he should not be allowed to play anywhere again. someone needs to be made an example of to send a message to the rest of the league that all proffessional athletes are role models to young and old society alike. what message would that send if he were to be re-instated? don't let him back in the game mr. goodell!!!
