10:09 AM ET 07.06 | On the eve of the unveiling of the All-Star rosters, San Francisco Giants Manager Bruce Bochy sounded as if he was more open to the idea of Yasiel Puig making the National League roster. Bochy will manage the NL team. "He's done a great job," Bochy said. "Tomorrow we'll know exactly who's going to make the club and which way we're going to go. He's done a great job. Believe me, that's not gone unnoticed. He's a very exciting player. There's been a lot of talk about him, a lot of interest from different people to have him in there. I understand that. I have to do what I think is right and tomorrow you'll know." Asked if he could remember a player with as little major league service time who made an All-Star team, Bochy mentioned Bryce Harper last year. "Part of it is you understand as a manager the fans want to see a certain player," Bochy said. "It's exciting for them. They've made a huge splash. They're bringing so much energy, it's intriguing. And even though it's a small sample size, when you look at the noise [Puig] has made, and it happens in a big city, and he has to be credited with what's happened with their club. He's been a spark for their team."

Do The Right Thing!!!

I would like to see him in the AS game. The arguments against him playing aren't convincing.

I don't have a problem with Puig making the All Star game, if the fans vote him in!!! The kid is the real deal. Seen a video of him the other day, he throw a runner out, trying to advance from first to third on a single to right field. The kid can not only hit, but he has a "rocket" for an arm, great defense player and he can run. He can do it all.

Put him in Bruce! You know you want to! He belongs!

I'd prefer he not be in but won't complain if he is. He's an exciting player to watch. But I'm with "The Oldtimer". If he's to get in let the fans vote him in.

An email to all 30 teams from Bud Selig surely went something like this: Anything we can do to get fans to give a #*#* about this game should be done.

I haven't watched the ASG since it ended in a tie with the benches empty and the players long gone. The addition of a Cuban who has torn up the NL for four weeks isn't gonna make me want to watch.

Puig is off to a hot start. What will be interesting to see what happens when he faces a team for second or third time. Teams will get a chance to see where he prefers the pitches at or if he has a weak spot. Pitchers will make adjustments of how to pitch Puig.

Puig is a sensation, not an all-star yet....

That could be right, but you are forgetting that Puig, is not just a good hitter. The kid is a great defensive player, with a rocket for a arm and he can run the bases.

You're repeating yourself.

If they're gonna ignore service time for Puig then the same consideration should be given to Pirates LF'er Sterling Matte. I've seen the same service time excuse for not considering Matte for the All-Star roster.
