Report: Nick Harwell coming to Kansas no matter what

08:38 AM ET 07.07 | Nick Harwell, who announced his intention to transfer to Kansas University in late May, wants nothing more than to take the necessary summer school classes to earn his degree so he can transfer to KU and become eligible to play another year of college football this coming fall. Thus far, Miami has blocked his path to doing so. But according to numerous people close to the situation, Harwell is coming to Lawrence in August no matter what. Whether he's eligible to play when he arrives is completely up to the decision makers at Miami, who suspended him for a semester this spring after an arrest that led to Harwell entering a guilty plea on a second-degree misdemeanor charge of attempted theft after he reclaimed possession of his cap and gown from his girlfriend's car.

He got his own cap and gown back and was charged? Got to be more to this story.

As in ... what else did he take while he was in there? OK that's not fair to Harwell.

Kudos to the kid for being in position to graduate. I hope he gets what he wants ... his bachelor's degree, enrolled in a masters' program, and a chance to play one more year.

Have no particulars on this but my first thought was that it may have been "ex" girlfriend at the time. But agree with you there has to be more to the story.

Honorary member as of now. Give Jabba more time and the SEC will be knocking at his door.

Perhaps he had to "encourage" the car to open up and allow him to get the cap and gown?

Well, that's all that OJ was really doing and he landed up in the slammer or it, right?
