07:07 AM ET 07.08 | The big one got away, and the Lakers are now left to turn the page. As Dwight Howard leaves Los Angeles, the Lakers and free-agent center Chris Kaman have a growing mutual interest, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Several other teams have expressed interest in Kaman, including Golden State, Atlanta, Sacramento and New York, sources said. Discussions are still in the formative stages, but Kaman has a reputation as a hard-working, dependable 7-footer who can fill a needed role. Kaman played his first eight NBA seasons for the Los Angeles Clippers, and a return to Southern California to join the Lakers has strong appeal to him, a league source told Yahoo! Sports. Kaman, 31, averaged 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds in 20 minutes a game for the Dallas Mavericks in 2012-'13.

Only if you can shoot 3s, or else DAntoni will not want your service

Doubt the lakers want him for more than just a year.

Kobe will Tweet a pic of him and Kaman.

I doubt Kaman and Pau can play together. Neither of them are "post" players, both have a reasonable mid-range jump shot. Just a desperation move by LA I think, there are other team that can be better fit for Kaman.

Atlanta, Golden State, New York and Sacramento are all interested in him.

If Atlanta can somehow grab both Ellis and Kaman, that'll be pretty sweet :-)

so now he would settle for mini mid level money?
He had a chance to join Miami and win a ring he chose Dallas, now the lakers are barely a contender and he's interested???
Hmm.
OKC,Miami makes the most sense.
But let him do as he feels, ringless again!

Agreed.
Word is there is talks for a Teague for Jennings sign and trade, so Teague can be reunited with Larry Drew.
Ellis and Jennings would be reunited, then you add Kaman with Horford already there, the hawks have the potential to make some noise....life may not be as bad without Josh Smith after all...

Guess he wants to get paid?

I am still hoping Miami adds Oden and Greg is 75% of what he was because at that level, he is still an upgrade over Joel Anthony.

In a few days, MM33 is going to be a free agent as well after Miami either deals him or amnesties him.

6m in salary is bad enough, but then another 20m in taxes? - SMDH
