07:09 AM ET 07.08 | The way Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw sees it, the move makes some hometown sense. [Kershaw], who leads the majors with a 1.89 ERA, endorses the idea of Mets righty Matt Harvey starting the All-Star Game at Citi Field. "He should," Kershaw told FOXSports.com. "There's no reason, especially if it's in New York, that he shouldn't start. That's what the fans will want. I've got no problem with that." Harvey, fourth in the majors with a 2.27 ERA, will pitch in front of National League All-Star manager Bruce Bochy on Monday night when he starts for the Mets against the Giants at AT&T Field. The Mets are off Thursday, so Harvey's next scheduled start would be Sunday, potentially eliminating him from consideration to start the All-Star Game.

You think the Mets have PR problems now - see what happens if they try to use him on Sunday..... Any boos - will NOT be for Harvey.....

If it's his day to pitch...it's his day to pitch. Harvey would fight a switch.

I agree - but you know how fickle fans can be......

Damn spinny thing.....

Interesting - I looked at the schedule - hit has Harvey on Saturday. Which is still 5 days rest.

July 8, 2013  09:10 AM ET

Damn - did the interns just assume he would pitch in the 5th slot instead of 5 days rest?

With an off day Thursday, maybe Saturday is a possibility

The schedules on ESPN have him starting on Saturday - and moved Gee back a day..... Makes sense.

That's a good thing for the opposing team. When he gets extra rest, hot damn

You mean Gee?

No, if Harvey has an extra days rest....

That's just it. He won't. He'll get the normal 5. Gee would get the extra rest as the schedule stands now.

Yup Harvey stays on schedule.

Either way, Harvey's a professional about it, got a good head on his shoulders

Agreed - He'll go Sat, and then will pitch one inning on Tue. Everybody wins.... Well, kinda. Depends what the Mets do with their rotation after the All-Star break.

QUOTE(#18):

Imagine if he gets run support, could yank'em a little early if so, but the runs don't usually come when he pitches. I'm sure after the AS break, the Metro's will overthink it since the media will be on them either way

No doubt - but just hope for a lot of runs, early and often on Sat. Have him go 5-6 and then let him get ready for Tue. But of course..... he'll want to stay in.... I would expect him to want to.

Of course - they are playing PIT - I hope they spank those guys into next week with a 3 game losing streak.....
