Peavy's return may mean a ticket out of town

07:11 AM ET 07.08 | If he's able to make it back in full form this season, veteran right-hander Jake Peavy will certainly help the White Sox -- or, perhaps, another team. He will throw a simulated game Tuesday in Detroit as the next recovery step from a fractured rib on his left side, and Peavy understands that recovery could lead to a deal before the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline. ... A healthy Peavy could warrant a young impact talent in return. "Obviously leaving Chicago would be such a bummer for me in a ton of ways." ... "We'll see how it plays out. I'm open to anything and I'll do everything I'm asked to do. If that's staying here, I'll be happy to do that. If that means to move, then that's something we'll address and be OK with when that time comes."

Indeed. And I suspect he will not be the only current White Sox dealt by the deadline.

When has Peavy NOT been on the trade block during his career?

As putrid as the W. Sox offense is this year, I hope Peavy gets traded for a nice return. It's time.

But but, who could guarantee his quality playing time? When returning from the DL?:-)

You actually did that?

A healthy Peavy sounds like an oxymoron.

How would it be a "bummer" for him to leave this sunken ship?

He would miss the steaks at Gibson's?

Or maybe a hot mistress?
