Buckeyes have a shot at undefeated season (again)

07:16 AM ET 07.08 | Running the table isn't easy, but a favorable schedule can help, and Ohio State may again have what it takes. Another undefeated season could be on the horizon for the Buckeyes. Urban Meyer's squad has an easy nonconference slate beginning with the opener against Buffalo. OSU does play San Diego State and Cal, which won't be cakewalks, but Braxton Miller and Co. should be able to finish up the non-Big Ten slate 4-0 after a visit from FCS squad Florida A&M. ... Much like Ohio State, Louisville has a chance to go unbeaten this season, and the nonconference schedule is a big reason for that shot. Overall, the Cardinals have one of the easier all-around slates in the FBS because it plays in The American.

Nopeeee.........Urbie going to be 21-0 as Buckeyes coach after this year with a NC.

Depends on whether he can keep his players out of legal troubles.
Maybe he learned something at FL (don't recruit thugs)!

Another Notre Dame shaping up. Struggles to win against easy teams but possibly wins them all, then faces a strong opponent in the NC game and loses badly.

July 8, 2013  09:19 AM ET

They will still choke in the bowl game like they usually do. B1G is the most overrated conference.

If it wasn't for the FCS team it would be considered an average OOC schedule; 1 "name" program and 3 lesser programs.

And, looking at their entire schedule, it's hard to imagine anyone beating them this year. Who do you think they'll lose to?

ND yea yer right.......But not the Buckeyes which is a much better team then the overranked Irish, and the Buckeyes will win the NC game this year unlike the Trolls of Southbend could not do last year.

LOL, you got that all wrong!! "Murderer's Row", is in reference to Bama's football schedule this coming year and last year's schedule. You have to admit that Colorado State, Ole Miss, Georgia State, Kentucky, Arky, Tennessee, Miss State, Chattanooga and Auburn is a "real killer schedule"!!!! :-)

@ Cal on Sept. 14 I beleave.........this could be a tough game.

But I agree with you " Its hard to imagine ANYONE beating them this year"

The Irish got there without a tested QB leading the way, I'm proud of my Irish for making it to the NC game. How many other teams could have pulled that off.

July 8, 2013  09:39 AM ET

It helps the Buckeyes that theres no fearsome Blackshirts on the schedule.

July 8, 2013  09:48 AM ET

with that trash head coach who looks for gang bangers for his team. Ohio State now has no honor with this jerk.

THIS would be funny....best way to end SEC's streak, don't let 'em play in it.

One a devient level, I would love to see 3-4 teams end undefeated (or no teams undefeated and 3-5 with 1 loss) and have total chaos for the final BS year.

Would serve them right for delaying the new plan a year.

July 8, 2013  09:52 AM ET

You know who else has a shot at going undefeated???? EVERY team till they play a game.

OK, good Dr., I'll bite. OOC schedule for '13: 8/31- Buffalo (MAC); 9/7- SDSU (MWC); 9/14- @ Cal (PAC 12); 9/21- FAMU (MEAC...FCS in football).

I think the OOC trap game is @ Cal. Da Bears gave the Bucks fits when they came to the 'Shoe last season. TOSU will have to be hitting on all cylinders early if they want to win on the Left Coast. The FAMU game was a late pencil-in in February, and the Rattlers will net $850K for their visit to C-bus. I'm thinking that with the new paradigm of the playoff system upcoming, this will be the last time you'll see Div. I/II matchups.

For the conference/divisional schedule, I think the biggest hurdles for the Buckeyes will be 10/5 @ Northwestern; 11/2 @ Purdue; and, of course 11/30 @ TSUN.
