07:10 AM ET 07.09 | After opting out of a contract for next season with the Bucks, Monta Ellis is free to field offers from suitors. [Ellis] is discussing a free-agent deal with the Sacramento Kings, league sources told CBSSports.com. With several avenues closed off as teams fill their needs for guards in free agency, Ellis could wind up with the Kings, who began doing their homework on him weeks ago. According to a person familiar with the situation, Kings owner Vivek Ranadive began inquiring about Ellis around the time his purchase of the Sacramento franchise was completed in late May. Ranadive, a former minority partner in the Golden State Warriors, identified Ellis as a possible free-agent target as he was finalizing his group's purchase of the Kings.

What team will overpay this guy? He is worth between $7-10 million a year. He'll get over $12 million per year.

The kings are the most talented team to not make the playoffs since they acquired Cousins via draft, Thornton via free agency, Salmons via trade, Landry, Thompson via draft etc etc.
Go to the kings for what!
ATL,Dallas, heck OKC would make more sense!

This is a guy the Bobcats should go after. A proven scorer that teamed with Jefferson and Kemba Walker, could actually help them make the playoffs.

With the exception of the early 2000's the Kings have always sucked. They are right there with Cleveland as one of the worst franchises in the history of the NBA>
