Utes' luck changing at QB?

07:19 AM ET 07.09 | Kyle Whittingham has a full house -- and then some, with five scholarship quarterbacks and a walk-on -- which may come in handy considering the Utes' recent luck with QBs. Still, Whittingham said the Utes might have two quarterbacks in the "upper echelon" of the Pac-12 in projected starter Travis Wilson and Adam Schulz -- and freshman Brandon Cox is actually listed as a co-backup with Schulz, according to the university's athletics website. While Utah athletics media relations was unwilling to check with Whittingham to confirm the assumption that Cox is in that same category, the Utes feel like it can look to the sky in hope with their quarterback circumstances. Logan Bateman is the walk-on, while two 2013 high school graduates will be in Salt Lake City next month.

Mornin', O-6. I rode through Kentucky recently. Most striking community I passed was Elizabethtown. A lot of charming old homes and downtown, and the people were friendly.

Any Pac-12 types out there care to comment on Utah's chances of being competitive this year?

4-8..they have UCLA and Stanford back to back, then USC, ASU, and Oregon back to back..there's 5 losses right there. IMO the PAC south will be much improved over the last couple years, so I see them finishing 9th in conference with their buddy Colorado in the cellar again.

Thanks J.DA. USC going to be back, or has the long expected Tiffin implosion begun?

My hope is that the Utes will beat some teams to whom they're projected to lose. I want them to develop into the wreckers of PAC prognostications and others' dreams of PAC glory. I want them to finish no worse than 7-5.

USC isn't getting much hype this season but they have a new DC and are loaded with talent..oh yeah and they have M Lee. I think they will surprise depending how their first year QB does. IMO their biggest competition in the south will be UCLA.

When I say 4-8 I'm thinking they lose to BYU, AZ, and OrSU..If they win those, 7-5.
