Michigan can wrap up class early ... again

07:20 AM ET 07.09 | With the University of Michigan's "Barbecue at the Big House" recruiting event set for July 28, the Wolverines may guarantee another quiet fall. In each of the current Michigan coaching staff's previous two signing classes, the majority of the heavy lifting in the recruiting class has taken place prior to the season's kickoff. ... U-M's 2014 class is on a similar trajectory. The group is likely to include 18-20 signees, and given that the Wolverines' coaches have already reeled in players for 14 of those openings, it could be yet another quiet fall from a recruiting perspective. U-M already has a marquee pledge in Rivals.com No. 2 overall player Jabrill Peppers, so even the suspense of reeling in a top-level player has been diminished.

Another quiet fall, sparty and the Bucks will take care of that anyways.

Thanks 0-6, I believe you are correct. I also think the COC, ND and N'western will be tough match-ups for TTFAA (that team from Ann Arbor). We find out this year if Hoke is the one to lead them to annual double digit wins or annual 4+losses.

msu like MICHIGAN will not lower themselves to bring in trash players like ohio shitstate. But if one does slip through they are kick off the team. I remember back when I was a kid and hear that GREAT DUFFY lick a kid off the team back talking to and police officer and BO kick a kid off the team foe shoplifting. But meyers he looks for gang bangers, just look at FL and all the trash that was on those teams.

Such virulence! What rage, and choler, and malice! Keep this up, my NM neighbor, and you and Alumnus will be like two peas in a pod.

I'll keep your comments in mind as TSUN vies for the 2013 Fulmer Cup.

Dude, I love your school spirit but your spelling and grammar are atrocious, you sound more like a graduate of the school you berate than someone with ties to Michigan.

Also, it's Urban Meyer, unless OSU cloned him and then 'Meyers' would be correct. Yes Urban had trash on his team, but that's indicative of the SEC and conferences on the Left Coast.

You (like I) should revel in the fact that we have one of the strongest recruiting classes in the nation, led by Jabrill Peppers (the nation's #2 player) who is rabidly recruiting for Big Blue to get the #1 player (Da'Shawn Hand) and God knows who else to join the ranks. They are led by one of the nation's TOP new head coaches and is destined to bring back the swagger Michigan has been lacking since their last National Championship.

Next time you post, pull out a thesaurus like your NM neighbor, do a little spellchecking and make cogent points and you'll come off as a knowledgeable fan and not some delirious ranter - just some advice from ANOTHER fan of the team with the most Division I wins in college football.

Ahh, damning me with faint praise. Now that's more like it. Subtle. Very subtle, PU.

Just to give my brethren something to chew on and show what a guessing game (joke) recruiting rankings are . . . here are some facts about the current team rankings . . . Michigan vs. OSU . . .

I have looked at 3 major companies/service that do this: Rivals, Scout and ESPN.

Rivals
OSU #6
Mich #7

Scout
OSU #11
Mich #10

ESPN
OSU #14
Mich #1 (that's right #1)

There's probably 3 or 4 other services that do the same thing and most likely, they are all different as well.

There are some recruits that are considered consensus top 10 players but does it really matter. Heck, the pro's can't even get this right in their drafting of CFB players.

It's fun to "discuss" but it really doesn't mean a whole lot. Every year you have teams that rarely have Top 10 recruiting classes which are major players in their conferences and sometimes nationally (Boise State and Wisconsin to name 2).

Have fun with this but let's not take any of it too seriously.

Our past isn't pristine in this matter. Each coach must decide how to manage the character / talent issue. It's never going to be perfect at any school, but I hope Dantonio learned his lesson with the Winston kid. Second chances, if given, have to be earned.

Division I? With wins against the likes of Albion, Windsor Club, Olivet, and Racine? Does Amalgamated Flange count as well?

But, But...this is TSUN and Ohio (as geographically-challenged Flounder would say). EVERYTHING is taken seriously where those two are concerned. (And, it's only July.)

HiYa, Yooper.

Ditto. Give the Domers a good B1G send-off 9/7.

That will be a very good game.

ND will be hurt by the Golson thing but I am sure they will be ready.

I think Gardner comes onto the National Scene big-time in this game and grants your wish. ;-)

Speaking of ND why won't they play Ohio State? They have not faced each other since the '95 & '96 seasons.

It's the Woody edict. He didn't want to alienate the Catholics in Ohio. He let EGG do it instead. ;)

Mornin', WAMU.

You're forgetting the 2006 Fiesta Bowl. Bucks 34, Domers 20.
