07:29 AM ET 07.09 | When it came to locking up Ryan McDonagh, New York didn't get away easy. [The Rangers'] 24-year-old blue chip defenseman chose to commit to spending the next six seasons on Broadway in signing a deal of that length Monday for $28.2 million that equates $4.7M per against the cap, a figure that's mutually equitable for the athlete and the club. "I was hoping they were thinking multiple years, and then they started with six years." ... [The] Rangers have between $6-and-8 million of roster space with which to work to sign their remaining Group II free agents Derek Stepan, Carl Hagelin, Mats Zuccarello and Justin Falk. Don Meehan, who represents Zuccarello, told The Post in an email, "As of now, our expectation is that we will re-sign with NY [rather than sign in Europe]."

he is a good player, I hope they resign him.
And yes, I was a bit nervous for a moment

If they sign all these guys, they will either be at the cap limit or above it.

With Rask about to get 7-7.5 and Rinne getting 7, what is Lundqvist going to cost

Maybe Spiny could tell me why we care about this guy so much. I haven't heard anything from this guy since, what, two years ago when he made some noise with his shootout moves? I've watched some Rangers games this past year and was wondering if he was still up on the big team.

Points this past season, kind of a push...unless you want to count playoff points. Clarkson did NOTHING in the playoffs this year.

You sound surprised.

So they removed Comment #7 because I said Falked? If they start to remove euphemisms and innuendo I may as well stop posting. :-(

Falk!

QUOTE(#17):

To be fair, the only thing Alfie did in the playoffs was throw his team under the bus and waive the white flag to a Pittsburgh team that got swept in the conf. finals. Yup, getting a warrior there! He'll fit right in with his countrymate Jonas.

Please remember what idiot we have to thank for foisting him on the NHL.
