11:56 AM ET 07.09 | New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz cashed in yesterday with a five-year, $43 million contract extension yesterday. But many think that this will make it difficult for his teammate Hakeem Nicks to re-sign with the New York Giants. Victor Cruz though wants to keep Nicks around despite reports that he isn't interested in re-signing with the club.

I read about 15.6 mil. Not bad for so-so salsa dancer.

Not Victor Cruz's concern. Player's should demand their worth and not take pay cuts to help out the team.

It's up to the front office to be smart about how they handle their books. And on that note, NYG has historically done well in that regard. Shouldn't be an issue.

his concern for Nicks is touching...

My sarcasm exactly. He could care less if it's him, the QB and four lineman paid about 250K apiece, which is the protection they'll get.

"Victor Cruz hopes there is money left to sign Hakeem Nicks."

Nope, it's all gone, you greedy SOB.

I love the headline.

He looks like a deer in headlights. A rich deer that is..

If Cruz was really worried about it ....then why did Cruz try and break the bank?

July 10, 2013  01:49 PM ET

If Cruz found Nicks or any of his teammates in the desert about ready to die from dehydration he would stand over their parched bodies and let them watch him drink a nice cold glass of water.

The cost of salsa on a football team just went up.

July 10, 2013  07:36 PM ET

He better hope they sign Nicks.....because if not he'll be seeing a lot of double coverage......

Your mistake is understandable as every other thread is about that.

Boys are tryna get paid. They don't care if they break the bank before the other guy gets a chance. lol. Can't blame him, he's in his prime, he's young and he's getting it. NYG will have to come up with something to pay Nicks
