For Steelers, it's now or ...

06:59 AM ET 07.10 | Among a set of teams whose windows are closing, Pittsburgh may rank No. 1. The Steelers' defense is getting older. The important trio of cornerback Ike Taylor (33 years old), safety Troy Polamalu (32) and linebacker LaMarr Woodley (28) is coming off a season in which each guy missed significant time. Of course, that didn't stop Pittsburgh from ranking first in total defense and sixth in scoring D, but it will be very difficult to maintain that performance level with such an old core. In March, meanwhile, Ben Roethlisberger turned 31, the age at which most quarterbacks hit the wall and begin to regress. ... I think Pittsburgh is good enough to contend in 2013, but things promise to get more difficult in 2014.

Write off Pittsburgh at your peril. They haven't been one of the most dominant teams in the NFL for decades without planning for the future.

Truth. I honestly think the Bengals will be better this season.

I'm just curious... does her behind stick out as far as her front end?

And they have given Pittsburgh trouble in past. They're record would be 4-10 with 2 wins against the Steelers.

" Ben Roethlisberger turned 31, the age at which most quarterbacks hit the wall and begin to regress.."

What? Not from what I have seen. Joe Montana, Elway ...In a league that is making it harder to beat QBs down, it is less and less of a factor.

I sure as hell wouldn't be facing the crowd.

IF they don't make the playoffs this year, is Tomlin gone? That would be two years in a row.

Makes great sense. They've been dominant for decades without planning for the future. Maybe all of the teams should stop planning for the future and just win like the Steelers (More SB's than anyone!!) One of the dumbest comments I have ever seen!! Debbie does but Debbie Doen't think too much.

EXACTLY.

No NFL team reloads talent as seamlessly as the Steelers, hell they have a history of letting go of Pro Bowlers who clamor for more cash and replace them without seemingly batting an eye.

You think that would offset his two Super Bowl wins?
