07:12 AM ET 07.10 | Chicago continues its busy pace on the international market. [The Cubs] are closing in on a deal with another top prospect, right-hander Jen-Ho Tseng from Taiwan, according to an industry source. Tseng, who is ranked No. 29 on MLB.com's list of Top 30 international prospects, is expected to command a bonus just north of $1.5 million. The club has not confirmed the report. Tseng, 18, is a known commodity in the international baseball world and was being pursued by several teams, including the Twins. The teenager is known for his upright, quick delivery and a fastball that can reach 95 mph. Poised and aggressive, Tseng also throws a curveball and slider. He also has a history on the big stage.

"He also has a history on the big stage."

Quoted from Wikipedia on his experience in the WBC Qualifiers:

"Relieving Kai-Wen Cheng with a 7???0 lead in the 7th, he retired Moko Moanaroa then walked Beau Bishop. Tseng recovered to fan two players with minor league experience in the US, Alan Schoenberger and Tim Auty, to end the inning."

I agree one hundred percent. This is the kind of organization that will ruin his arm to squeeze out as many innings as possible in an effort to turn a horrible season into only mediocre.

I have hated the Cubs ever since they got rid of Mark Grace.

In addition to the fastball, kid is supposed to have a slider, sinker, changeup and knuckle-curve.

If that's true, and he has a modicum of control, he'd be a phenom.

Something tells me if he is 29th out of 30 on the MLB Intl list he doesn't really have it.
