07:22 AM ET 07.10 | At least for a debut, the Seth Jones show opened to rave reviews. The Predators unveiled Jones, arguably the highest-profile prospect in franchise history, during development camp Tuesday, when a larger-than-usual crowd gathered at Centennial Sportsplex to watch the organization's youngest players get up to speed. ... Coach Barry Trotz tried to downplay excitement about seeing the prize prospect on the ice in a Predators uniform for the first time. His words made sense: The expectation level has been so high that in many ways it needed to be ramped down. "You just want to keep an even keel," Trotz said. ... Yet it's already difficult to hide the youngster's talent and marketability, even in July, almost three months before the 2013-14 season opener.

Glad to see the Nashville brass are not making the mistake another organization habitually made in overhyping and rushing young D men.

Not to worry. With Barry Trotz as his coach, he's in good hands.

There's no way Trotz is going to be able to subdue the undue expectations that will be placed on this kid by the media and fans.

Unless he pulls a Seguin or a Kostytsyn on the Preds, there's very little doubt he'll succeed.
