Monte Ellis, Kings not close to deal

11:40 AM ET 07.11 | The Sacramento Kings have reportedly been one of the candidates to come out on top in the Monta Ellis sweepstakes, but the player and the team seem to be far from reaching an agreement. The two parties have indeed met, however, nothing seems to have progressed much beyond that. The Kings would likely have to shed some salary in order to have enough cap space to sign Ellis, and one of the players that would most likely have to be moved is Jimmer Fredette. Sacramento actually hoped they could push Fredette and Chuck Hayes to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the Cavs had no intentions of taking on Hayes' contract and instead signed Andrew Bynum.

Some team is going to overpay for this one trick pony.

The hawks make the most sense.
Look if the kings wants Ellis so bad why draft McLemore?
Dallas says they don't want any more back court players, so sign with ATL...
It's a pitty the bulls aren't man enough to amnesty Boozer and sign Ellis, they were interested but they were unable to work out a deal.

The Hawks are willing to take him at less than $10M per. Ellis fired his agent because he expects a $10M + per deal.

The Knicks need a SG? LOL

Too Much For Too Little, Bro?

I like the restraint teams are using. In years past, Ellis would've been locked up at $11M per for several years.
