11:44 AM ET 07.11 | The fact that Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard had different views on leadership and basketball in general is no secret. It was well-documented that the two players had their differences on the court, and it seems that one of the reasons Howard decided leave the Los Angeles Lakers was precisely that. Apparently, Howard's camp even asked whether the Lakers would consider using the amnesty clause on Bryant.

I'm surprised we are still getting daily D12 stories.

DH was smarter than many of you gave him credit for.

Not to say I told you so, but I told you people that Kobe was/is the Lakers problem and they should have cut him a long time ago.

He can't defend his man and DH knows it, plus he is a ball hog taking all the money.

Sounds like DH knew exactly what was wrong with the Lakers, they had a team killer on the roster. Kobe is and never will be worth $30 million.

If the Lakers ever hope to make the playoffs again, it won't be with Kobe on the team.

Amnestying Kobe makes too much basketball sense. Lakers would never do that.

It's the Kaman and Duhon show now!!!

Howard just didn't want to be on the worship club.... LeBron next??? Yeah, right......Cleveland has a better chance...

Duhon was waived or brought out.

Howard went to a better situation in Houston.LA is reduced to signing Chris Kaman.OKC no longer has a big three, just a dynamic duo.San Antonio is old, Dallas will be in the lottery, and Denver lost its GM, coach and best player. The best teams in the west next season? Memphis and Golden State.

LAC...

First.Well, Howard's camp had every right to ask that request - and the Lakers had every right to decline the request.

See... Howard knew what's best for the Lakers organization...

The Lakers Made The Wrong Choice, Bro.

WTF..., maybe if DH had game,
his camp could justify the right to drop a name.
Though Big-Boy has a little potential,
for now his performance is inconsequential.
