Are the Nuggets a sinking ship?

07:02 AM ET 07.12 | Perhaps Andre Iguodala saw something coming. Are the Nuggets slowly sinking in the Western Conference? Houston landed Dwight Howard, the big prize in NBA free agency. The Los Angeles Clippers lured Doc Rivers, among the league's top five coaches. And what did Denver get? A kick in the teeth from [Iguodala], who bolted for Golden State. So here's the blunt question: Did the Nuggets take a step back? "Did we take a step back? I don't know," Nuggets president Josh Kroenke said Thursday. "It remains to be seen. But we're trying to build this team for the long haul." Was Iguodala a rat jumping off a sinking ship? ... Will the Nuggets miss Iguodala in the short term? Kroenke knows the answer is probably yes.

Yes!

Didn't help much that their coach and GM also left...

Yeah - this team is pretty much floating down the old septic river.

They basically peaked.Still haven't addressed the need for a go to guy, so.....They won't be going to make much noise in the playoffs

Much noise? How about any noise?

I think a playoff spot just opened up. :)

They did great, lost a few players come playoff time, and the front office freaked out and fired the coach of the year. Now they are done for, lucky to make the playoffs this year. Rebuilding time...

They may be okay if they can scoop Ellis, considering the fact he will likely sign with the hawks, yup their sinking!

Ellis won't go to the hawks and play with Jennings again... it just doesn't make sense..

Nuggets will make the playoffs. They have enough veterans w/ experience. Lawson is a steady PG that can make shots.

Yeah they will make the playoffs. They have most of their depth from before they even had Iggy. They might as well go head and sign Monta. They problably would have the quickest backcourt in the NBA.

Coach didn't leave, he was fired!!

And I think the ship has already sunk.

Iguodala is so overrated. A shooting guard that can't shoot. 57% from the free throw line, 31% from the three point line. The Nuggets were smart not to overpay and leave room for next year. I'd rather have Foye at the 2. Golden State burned him in the playoffs so its ironic he is joining them. He couldn't guard Curry or Thompson.

I think it's "possible" they could make the playoffs. It's still a talented bunch but it's a group that was set up for Karl's offense. Shaw is going to run a completely different offense so we'll see how they adapt. But if they think by playing Mr. McGoo more minutes is going to help I believe they've made a huge mistake. McGee got tired playing the minutes he did last year and his turnovers will go up immensely. Horrible hands. But let's say they do make the playoffs. It's going to be one and done........again.

Yes they are sinking, and the only think keeping them from hitting the ocean floor is the S.S. Boston Celtic of which they will settle on top of .
