07:16 AM ET 07.12 | In a lengthy interview with LA Kings Insider, Dean Lombardi addressed such topics as the team's development camp, prospect Maxim Kitsyn, and the future of Dustin Penner, the big winger who scored two goals and added 12 assists during the lockout shortened season. LAKI: Is there an update on any negotiations with Dustin Penner that you'd be able to provide? DL: It's one of those cap things, and I guess it's safe to say I have a limited amount of cap space left, and there certainly isn't going to be enough to -- I mean his requirements. I talked to him the other day, and I just told him. I talked to his agent a couple days ago and [said] 'This is where we're at. I've only got X amount left.'

6'5'' 245. But only 11 goals in three seasons with the Kings. That's not superstar money he's looking for one would hope.

I think the Kings are just tired of dragging him around the ice, trying to get him to the front of the net.

He's been invaluable in the playoffs - they wouldn't have the 2012 cup without him. He's a non-contributor during the season?
