Washington's greatest offseason regret

06:56 AM ET 07.15 | Among a list of offseason moves NFC East teams could have made on offense but didn't, perhaps the most affecting will be Washington's not solving Pierre Garcon's foot issue. This one is on Garcon, of course. The team can't force a player to have surgery if he doesn't want to have surgery. Garcon did have a procedure to repair a shoulder problem, which is good, but it was the torn ligament in his foot that bothered him last season, cost him six games and is at risk of flaring up again if rest didn't cure it completely. ... Everyone has heard that the Redskins were 9-1 in regular-season games in which Garcon played. ... But when they look back on this offseason, their biggest regret may be that Garcon didn't get the foot surgery he needed.

Surgery doesn't always solve physical problems.

Watch it. Boston's James "Whitey" Bulger has first dibs on that one.

And, even now, you don't want to get on the wrong side of Whitey.

One thing about Shanny is he expects his players to live, eat and breath football. That's why he and Jake Plummer ended up not getting along. Plummer wasn't ate up with the game. Doesn't have a tolerance for something like this but what else does Washington have? Not much.

What about that no-no word if you replace the n with a w?

They had two. First was not making RGIII play more of a pocket passer than a running QB. Never know about injuries. No matter what some type injury could crop up during the season. He had surgery and probably did not feel like going through another one this year.
Coach cannot be blamed if the receiver does not opt for surgery and decides to play it out this coming season.

Ask Bubby Brister what he thinks about the Weasel.

The Washington Nighties?

I remember the whole bit when they changed the Bullets to the Wizards. The argument used was they didn't want the name to be associated with violence, yet they still left Washington in the name... At the time, Washington, DC was also the murder capital of the country...
