(Backup) quarterback controversy for Pack?

07:00 AM ET 07.15 | This time around, there is a bit of Groundhog Day in Green Bay. A lot of the things the Packers and Graham Harrell said last year, they're saying this year. The back-up quarterback has matured. He knows the offense better. He's stronger. His ball has more zip. And all of that probably is true. But everybody -- from Harrell to Mike McCarthy -- also knows that in 2013 it will all need to translate to progress on the field. ... Harrell will enter training camp as the Packers' back-up behind Aaron Rodgers. But he'll also have a lot to prove. ... [B.J. Coleman] has the superior arm and the confidence to deliver the ball on difficult routes down field. Confidence on draft day -- when Coleman told the Packers this would be their best pick ever -- hasn't wavered.

Oooooowww... Barn burner, here.

Rodgers will start every game, and the backups may get a few kneel-downs. There's no point grooming a replacement for Rodgers at this point - he's got too many years left.

This is as exciting as it gets in Wisconsin until the lakes freeze over, Unless the Dairy Princess comes to your town for the homecoming parade. Let them have their fun.

I heard that. Little Debby just isn't the same and Sarah Lee needs a new cheff on this one. Paula is not busy, maybe they could call her?

They need to branch out, maybe so international. Szechuan Twinkies. Jalepeno Twinkies. Momma Gronk's Kielbasa Twinkies.

One of our local Walmarts was selling them yesterday, a day earlier than they were supposed to.

Yawn.

I remember the KJR Wake Up Lady saying this one morning in the late 1970s: "Good morning, boys and girls. This is the KJR Wake Up Lady saying if you don't get out of bed right this instant, I'm going to send Jack Patera and the defensive unit of the Seahawks into your room to stomp the cream out of your Twinkie". After that Twinkies just kind of make me cringe.

On the subject of Graham Harrell. I thought the guy was a legitimate NFL starter when he was at TT playing for the pirate.

I don't think he's taking AR off the field, but I was surprised to see this guy get no action when he was drafted, or not drafted actually.

How is your main wide receiver picked number 10 overall and you, the guy that made him, not worth consideration in the top 200?

Sounds like a tepid story.

Totally agree. Harrell's a winner and smarter than most QB's in the league. A lot like Drew Brees.
