07:04 AM ET 07.15 | Former No. 1 overall pick Greg Oden has an NBA comeback attempt on his mind, and, as it turns out, he may have some choices. [Oden] is currently evaluating his options to rejoin the league. With the draft and early phase of free agency behind us, the market has a bit more clarity. According to a source with direct knowledge of the situation, the Miami [Heat], San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings are the teams with strong interest in adding Oden to their rotation for next season. One of the primary items at the top of Oden's wish list is a multi-year deal as the center desires stability in his next career stop. The center is also looking for an opportunity to become a regular rotation player next season, per a source.

multi-year deal as the center desires stability in his next career stop?

If you had a stable knee you would have had stability.

He's been practicing his towel wave while he recuperates.

I wonder if he's taking Bynum's lead refuse to workout for teams.

His agent is probably not doing to good. You would think he would sign anything that's offered right now. Beggars can't be chasers...

Stay Away From LA, Bro.

Maybe they should offer him a deal similar to Cleveland with Bynum.

3 mil for the first year, 3.3 mil player option for the second.
Signing with the heat makes most sense.
Sac Town are crowded with front court players.
From Cousins,Thompson,Patterson,Hayes,Johnson.....
Spurs have Duncan,Splitter,Diaw....Oden would probably only see 10-15 minutes with them. Heck they threw Blair in the dog house and he was productive.
Best choice would be to join Miami.
At least a chance at a title, would be the best overall comeback scenario.

With the Cavs signing Byum- Oden probably is best suited for Miami- i agree

all though- Miami does not have much depth in the front court- ideally you want Oden to be a guy that CAN play and does not HAVE to play...

on the Cavs - before they got Bynum he would be behind Varejao, Zeller, Thompson, Bennett in the front court and not be pressured- and have the CCF to help with his knee....Bynum coming to Cleveland was pushed along a lot because of the treatment he could get at the CCF while they monitor the knee and help him

He would be a good fit in Miami though

Amazing How a guy that has not even played half a season since He has been in the league can still get a paycheck .. Just shows if you are 7 feet tall and u have a pulse you can be a millionaire too.

Always thought this was the choice that made the most sense for him.

See if you can get 20 minutes a game out of him and adjust accordingly.

If the guy can't even work out that's a huge red flag. It's like he wants to get paid one last time.

I think the Spurs would be the best team for him. They can bring him up slowly and it could be in the 2nd or 3rd year of the contract that he'll produce. The Heat can't afford to sign a center that's not ready to play this year. They need a big body now and not 2-3 years from now...

Oden is a joke and any team that signs him are fools. I bet he will be on the DL most if not all of the season.

July 15, 2013  09:50 AM ET

There is plenty of video out there of his most recent workouts and that's basically the reason he is getting serious looks.. I hate to say it but he does actually look like he'll pan out this time around. If he lands on a team that gets him about 20 min a night I think he'll do fine.
