Rondo vows never to play for the Heat

07:05 AM ET 07.15 | And then there was one: Rajon Rondo. With Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce now off to the Brooklyn Nets, the point guard has watched all of his key teammates from the 2007-08 NBA champion Boston Celtics leave town. But if Rondo is the next to go (as it has been rumored), it won't be to the Miami Heat. Or at least so he says. Speaking at his own basketball camp in Kentucky, Rondo was caught on tape vowing that he will never play with LeBron James and Co. ... Rondo has let it be well known in the past that he isn't the biggest fan of the Heat. His former teammate Ray Allen took a lot of heat from the Celtics for moving on to Miami in free agency. Allen won another NBA championship for his efforts.

Money and rings talk bro

Nobody cares about you, Rondo. You're yesterday's news. Second rate player on a third rate team who can't keep its superstars in check.

The kid has heart and is a fighter. He'll stand for what he believes and that's a good thing for any team that has him.

Come To LA, Bro.

July 15, 2013  09:02 AM ET

Did the Heat send him an invitation?

I think Detroit should make a move for him- they have Monroe and Drummond and Josh Smith-

Monroe or Drummond - 2 very good young big men should get the Celtics interested-

I think Drummond, and a pick and perhaps another decent player should pique the Celtics interest......

He won't play for the heat, but am sure he'll play for the lakers.
Let's be real if Boston can't keep a good roster around him, the kid is a goner.

QUOTE(#8):

He would be good on the Lakers. He's mentally strong enough to get everyone involved and not let Kobe dominate the ball.

He could but they would have to trade for him. I still don't know how it could work out w/ Kobe. It really depends on Kobe if he is willing to give up the reigns. Every single player had to bow to Kobe and if they don't then they're out. MWP was a strong personality but he had to give in. Rondo might have to do the same thing...

I'm sure the Heat will lose a lot of sleep over this worthless prophecy.

He chase Shaq away, he chase Howard away, he blame Pau, he shoot to much, he only have five rings not like Mike. Hehehehehehehe

Fixed!

Danny will trade Rondo if he wants his first round picks to be in the lottery.

Rondo is good but appears to be a cancer and coach killer. I wouldn't mortgage the future with Drummond or Monroe for him. Celtics played .500 ball with him and .500 ball without him. He will be traded next year though when he deal is about to end. I would also like to see how well he can perform when he doesn't have HOF talent knocking down shots.

You could say the same thing about D Williams and CP3. Both talented PGs that seem to drive away coaches.

July 15, 2013  09:46 AM ET

Maybe Rondo should say, "I'll never play for the Nets" because KG and PP did the same thing Allen did, leave via free agency just like they are allowed too.

Great Fix and I agree... His greatest strength is also his biggest weakness. He has to learn to get along w/ a dominating big man... You forgot to mention Bynum in there...

CP3 on any team makes the team better. He just can't do enough to beat a team on his own. Rondo gets into it with teammates for silly things and he comes across very petty but a fiery competitor. Dwill does appear to be a coach killer for what happened in Utah but he didn't get PJ fired or Avery Johnson fired.

What an idiot...

Pull your skirts up sister....

It's still a game, but business is business.........you would go if they asked...

I don't think DWill even got Jerry Sloan fired. Sloan quit on his own and he won't allow the team to fire him...
