Rios to the Yankees?

07:07 AM ET 07.15 | Even manager Robin Ventura couldn't hide some disappointment headed into the break, a point at which the White Sox stood at 37-55. "The record speaks for itself," [Ventura] said. "Nobody is happy, and you can go home and clear your mind and get ready to go." The roster could look different soon, especially with the July 31 trade deadline approaching and the Sox producing six losing streaks of four games or more, including an eight-game skid after they reached the .500 mark on May 26. ... The offense could become further challenged if the Sox deal right fielder Alex Rios, who is among the team leaders with 11 home runs and 40 RBIs. The Yankees are the only contender looking for outfielders among the six teams Rios can block a trade to.

Love the sarcasm. You're sooooo right! Let's get a few more powerhouse names and see if the chemistry bodes well the rest of the way. Though, I'm sure they would be giving up only Hughes for Rios which wouldn't make a dent on their pitching staff so it could only help. Still, IMO even the Yankees should concede the season.

Cool...maybe they'll trade for Halladay as well to increase their "former Jays" contingent~

Hughes is a free agent at season end, whereas Rios is owed $13 mil for 2014 and a $1 million buyout in 2015 if the team option is not exercised.

No way this happens unless the Sox pick up most, if not all, of the money due to Rios in 2014 and 2015.
