Verlander's sigh of relief

07:08 AM ET 07.15 | Take a deep breath, Tigers fans. At this point, the quad injury that was listed as the reason Justin Verlander left the game Sunday after allowing one hit in seven innings doesn't seem likely to delay his next scheduled start. In fact, it probably didn't have much to do with him leaving his last one. Verlander left his team's 5-0 victory Sunday afternoon one out after surrendering a double to Mitch Moreland, which put an end to his bid for his third career no-hitter. Shortly thereafter, the Tigers announced that he had left the game due to a tight right quad muscle. But if he hadn't allowed any hits at that point? "I probably would have let him try to get it," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. "Unless it was something where it became worse."

He's got at least 3 days of rest in front of him. He'll be ok.
