07:16 AM ET 07.15 | Colorado can count on a significant change upcoming in 2013-14. One word: travel. In a recent question and answer session with season-ticket holders, Avs coach Patrick Roy and executive VP of hockey operations Joe Sakic both said things will get easier for the team travel-wise under the new format. Instead of losing an hour or just staying the same coming back from many road games, the Avs now will gain an hour on the clocks coming back from Central time zones such as Chicago, St. Louis, Dallas, Nashville and Winnipeg. When the Avs used to come home from a division road game in Vancouver, it might be 2 a.m. or later when they touched down at DIA. Now it'll be midnight or so coming back from the new Central time zone opponents.
